Black Marks on Washing Machine Door Seals
This is because we use mostly low temperature washes, and using washing machine detergent that doesn't contain bleach can cause black mould which appears on the surface of door the seal, Bleach in washing machine detergents along with high temperature washes kills the bacteria that can otherwise multiply inside a washing machine. Most of "colour-friendly" detergents and liquid detergents do not have any bleach in them which is why they are very good at retaining colour to your clothing.
Removing these marks from the door seal is almost impossible, but it is possible to stop this from marking clothing by rubbing with a mixture of washing machine lime scale remover and a mild bleach solution Note do use a neat chlorine (bleach) as this will damage the seal if your machine has resin/ plastic outer tub can make the brittle and liable to crack
Also to prevent, or try to get rid of, black mould in washing machines, put the washing machine on a monthly boil wash using detergent that contains bleach, and with no laundry in. If you normally use biological or liquid detergent, buy some normal detergent containing bleach and keep it just for this wash.
Try to leave the washing machine door open after washing to let it dry out. If the washing machine is in a place where it's exposed to warm moisture such as in a steamy kitchen then you may need to actually dry out the drum and door seal manually and leave the door closed.
Replacing the door seal is the other option for which we have a large range in stock
